Varna Free University was established as a democratic institution
in 1991. With a resolution of the 37th National Assembly from
21 July 1995 VFU was given the status of a higher educational
institution.
The University enters 21st century as a respectable and welcomed
partner both of the Bulgarian and the international academic
community.
For the 10-year period of its existence VFU, an adaptable
and enterprising university, has achieved a convert ability
and competitiveness on an international scale of the educational
process and research work.. VFU co-operates with academic
structures from CIS and USA.
At VFU there is education in 28 specialities integrated in
five Scientific-and Educational Complexes, which guarantee
equality between science and education - Economics and Management,
Legal Studies and Public Security, Social Sciences, Humanities
and Arts, Techniques and Technologies.
As an autonomous private educational structure the University
functions in compliance with the Bulgarian constitution and
the Higher Education Law. A high appraisal and an unquestionable
proof for the quality of the educational process at VFU is
the institutional accreditation obtained for a period of the
five years. The University organizes regular and extramural
studies for students completed their secondary or higher education
and confers on its graduates bachelor, master as well as doctor's
degree.
